We make a wide variety of custom and reproduction latches and door pulls.
We can reproduce colonial, medieval or any other period forged hardware.
For home or castle, plain or fancy we can make your hardware.
Each thumb latch set consists of Handle, Thumb Piece, Latch bar, catch and keeper.
Plain and offset strike plates are available for different applications.
Shown at right is our most popular #1326 set with latch parts for a door that swings in.
Also available are latch parts for a door that swings towards you.
Any of these handles are available as complete thumb latch sets, as pulls only (no thumb piece), as handle with dummy thumb piece, or as handles with lock thumb piece to operate our mortise locks.

Most of the Hardware shown on this page is cast in bronze and chemically blackened.
We can also supply some of these hand forged in other metals such as brass, copper and steel.
Mortise locks available with modern key cylinder (for exterior side) rosette (to match handle design) with thumb turn.

We have no “Off the shelf” forgings.
They are hand made one at a time the way blacksmiths have done for millinia.
All forged hardware is created to meet your individual needs.
No two forgings are alike and each piece has its own character.
If you would like us to reproduce an item you already have, it is best to send us that item.
It is difficult to match quality and workmanship from a simple sketch.
We create hardware in ‘mild steel’, as wrought iron is not available.
We also forge Brass and copper if suitable and cast brass hardware.
