Thumb Latch TL-3
Our TL3 Bean thumblatch, which is probably the most traditional design we have, is a prime example of sutle beauty. Many variation can be seen all over the New England states as the design was used heavily in England and the first versions of this were imported from there. Probably the most used style in the 18th and 19th centuries. Also called the lima bean swivel latch.
Many blacksmiths would incise lines in different patterns to distinguish their work from others or to add beauty and uniqueness.
